The venue was the Carrousel du Louvre, a complex connected to the Louvre Museum, known for hosting the Paris Collection (commonly known as Paris Fashion Week). Held in Paris, which was garnering attention as a stage for international big events like the Rugby World Cup held in France at the same time and the 2024 Olympics, this art fair became a lively gathering for artists and art enthusiasts from around the world.

Ms. Shinonome also traveled to Paris with her works

Ms. Shinonome presented the “Sewing Scroll,” inspired by “The Tale of Genji,” Japan’s oldest novel. Among over 2,000 artists gathered in France, a country many artists yearn for, Ms. Shinonome’s elegant and sophisticated needle art stood out remarkably. Her delicate works, blending tradition and modernity, were highly praised not only by local visitors in France but also by gallery owners from various countries.

“It was a fulfilling and brilliant three days that could only be experienced here,” says Ms. Shinonome, who looks back on this exhibition with joy.

Carrousel du Louvre: A coveted sacred place
The stage for appreciating art is supreme and fair,
A joy to receive numerous words of emotion,
The pleasure of resonating with what one truly wants to depict,
The pure delight of purchase.
These ‘joys’ have become a sparkling and brilliant sensory experience and part of my trajectory.
They will surely become a proud beacon on the path I will continue to tread.
I extend my gratitude to those who provided the opportunity to realize this concept I have long harbored, and to those who cooperated and supported me in various ways.
